Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions before your demo

Do Spexi customers need to own/manage drones?

No. Spexi customers don’t need to buy, maintain, or operate drones. Spexi delivers imagery and subsequent data products as a service; you simply request coverage, and we handle the rest.

How quickly can I view the imagery?

If the area is already captured, you get instant access via login. If not, Spexi activates a mission immediately and typically delivers datasets as small as 25 acres, and as big as full cities in hours to weeks, depending on the size of area. Our fastest turnaround to date: 11 hours

What if we want a fresh set of data for an existing area?

Refreshing your dataset is as easy as clicking a button. Once you request it, Spexi creates a mission and alerts the pilot network, who collect fresh, standardized imagery and push it live.

How frequently can you update coverage? Is it monthly, quarterly, or only on demand?

We refresh coverage on demand — whenever you request it. If you need scheduled refresh cycles (e.g., monthly or quarterly), we can set those up.Once the network gets to a mature state, we anticipate major areas will be refreshed quarterly automatically, while smaller areas can be refreshed more frequently based on specific customer demand.

Do you integrate with ESRI?

Yes—Spexi imagery can be exported in standard GIS formats (like GeoJSON) and bring into ArcGIS and work alongside existing GIS layers. And there’s more coming soon: we’re actively building a direct ArcGIS streaming integration that will allow you to seamlessly overlay Spexi orthomosaics within ArcGIS itself—no extra steps needed.

How can users access/consume Spexi’s aerial data?

A. Spexi World Viewer: Panoramic imagery can be viewed directly in our customer web app, or a GeoJSON of panoramic locations can be imported into GIS platforms, including ArcGIS.

B. API: Spexi’s standard images are available through our API.

C. GeoTIFF Files: Spexi’s orthomosaics are currently delivered as GeoTIFF files. (Our long-term plan is to deliver them via tile servers for easier integration.)
